A brief history
ENNIA has been active in the Dutch Caribbean since 1948 and is derived from the Dutch Insurance Company “First Dutch/New First Dutch” (Eerste Nederlandsche/Nieuwe Eerste Nederlandsche: EN/NEN).
In 1981, ENNIA merged with AGO Insurance, after which the parent company changed its name to AEGON. The name ENNIA had gained so much recognition in the Dutch Caribbean, that ENNIA's name wasn’t changed. In 1998, ENNIA was acquired by Nuts OHRA and one year later by Delta Lloyd.
In 2002, ENNIA took over Amersfoortse Antilles. Four years later, Delta Lloyd sold its ENNIA Caribe Holding NV shares to Parman International BV, who became the sole shareholder of the ENNIA group of companies.
Currently ENNIA Caribe Holding NV is a fully independent company under Curacao law. Our insurance activities are carried out by 5 operating companies:
- ENNIA Caribe Schade NV (General insurance).
- ENNIA Caribe Leven NV ( Life insurance).
- ENNIA Caribe Zorg NV (Healthcare insurance).
- ENNIA Caribe Schade (Aruba) NV (General insurance).
- ENNIA Caribe Leven (Aruba) NV (Life insurance).
