Playing golf for Ronald McDonald
Last weekend’s fundraising golf tournament at Santa Barbara Beach Resort raised over f 100,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Curacao Foundation. A total of 39 teams, consisting of 4 players each, were divided up between playing the course in the morning wave, or in the afternoon wave. ENNIA participated as well, and our team placed second in the afternoon wave. In addition to a grand prize for winning the entire tournament, there were other prizes to be won in different subcategories. ENNIA awarded a prize to the best scoring teenagers of the tournament. These young talents won participation in a golf clinic abroad, worth $3,000. Aiden Maduro and Dillon Jongkind were the lucky winners who walked away with this awesome prize. We wish them continued success in their golf endeavors!
The money raised for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Curacao Foundation will benefit the existing “family room” in the current Sehos hospital, and for the future “family room” in the new hospital, Hospital Nobo Otrabanda (HNO). These rooms become a “home-away-from-home” for family members of sick children, so they can stay close to their brother, sister, daughter, or son, during these difficult times.
