Hurricane insurance

If predictions are true, this may become the most violent hurricane season ever recorded. Of course you don’t have to live in fear before the hurricane comes. With proper preparation you will be able to sleep better.

How can you pepare yourself?

Your preparation

  • If you are not insured, remember that this needs to be done on time. Insurers can reduce the effects of ‘natural disasters’.
  • Check your policy to verify if you are also insured for natural disasters.
  • Verify the amount of your policy's deductible.
  • Ensure your premium is paid on time.
  • Avoid underinsurance*

*Avoid underinsurance
If you take out a house and/or contents insurance it is very important to determine the value of the building and contents that you plan to insure.

Example:
Your contents are insured for NAf 40,000, but the actual value is NAf 80,000.
In this case, you are only insured for half! Suppose the damage of the natural disaster is NAf 5,000; you will only receive 50% of the NAf 5,000 from your insurance. That means you will only be reimbursed NAf 2,500.

ENNIA Home Contents Meter
With this you get a simple indication of the value of your possessions. You can also organize and describe your possessions. This way you can be reimbursed for almost the full value of your insured possessions. Do the contents meter or download the PDF document for a more comprehensive contents meter.

Do you want personal advice about your situation? Fill in the form below and you will be contacted as soon as possible by an ENNIA representative.
